Welcome to The Fralin Foodie food blog.
My name is Caitlyn Fralin, and I am by no means a food expert. The title, “food enthusiast,” is a bit more fitting, but I’ll let you be the judge.
I am the daughter of a musician and a chef. Each parent runs their own small business around their passion, and I couldn’t be more proud. My little brother is equally impressive. He is following in the footsteps of our mother, as he pursues his own career in the kitchen. Needless to say, cooking is second nature in my family.
For me, cooking is therapeutic. I kick off my shoes, turn up some music, pour some wine, and simply, create. I often use recipes as mere guidelines, as I prefer to “eyeball” measurements and add my own touch. I’ll admit that it’s sometimes out of convenience and sometimes it’s out of instinct. This makes me an awful baker, but I’m working on it. Just like the rest of my life, I prefer to dabble outside-the-lines, because that’s where the magic happens.
This blog is a showcase of my culinary explorations and experiences. I’ve lived in some cool cities and I’ve tried some amazing food, and I look forward to sharing my stories with you. Thanks for tuning in!
